Beco­ming Home

Beco­ming Home is a lyri­cal mono­lo­gue that unflin­chin­gly unra­vels the dif­fi­cul­ties of migra­ti­on and the expe­ri­ence of inha­bi­ting a world as a woman. Woven through land­scapes of sor­row and loss, it trans­forms per­so­nal wounds into meta­phors that beco­me man­tras of resilience.

The per­for­mance brings tog­e­ther seven poems (in Eng­lish) inspi­red by my inti­ma­te expe­ri­en­ces, tra­cing a jour­ney through grief, cri­sis, and rebirth. Accom­pa­nied by seven songs from the Latin Ame­ri­can folk tra­di­ti­on and per­for­med along­side guest musi­ci­ans, Beco­ming Home beco­mes a tes­tim­o­ny of loss, enac­tion, home­osta­sis, eman­ci­pa­ti­on, and reclai­ming one’s place in the world.
